I have been following Grosgrain Fabulous for quite some time now. Love, love, love her giveaways. The costumes are just the best. These baby clothes are adorable, too, and are patterns for a beginner which gives me hope. Pop on over and take a look – I’m sure you’ll love her site, too.
Ta, da, da, da…the winner is….Carmel of Mellow is Me. Congratulations, Carmel. Email me your address and I will get your book sent off to you.
On another note, I am super swamped with “real” design work so the blogging will be on hold for a little while. Be patient with me and I will make up for it with super fantastic holiday ideas that I’ve been saving up and will post very soon! Not to pass over Thanksgiving, but I’m in the mood for Christmas!
If all of my readers & friends click on the link above (or in my sidebar) to share it or display the widget on their website, I can win a laptop! It’s a Hewlett Packard thing. Check out ways to go green and click on the link to help me win. If I do, I promise to host a super spectacular giveaway as a thank you.
And the winner is…Danielle! Yeah, entrant #2 is the winner chosen by the number generator at www.random.org. Thanks for entering – hope you love the cookbook! Send me your new snail mail address and I’ll get it off to you ASAP. Congrats!
We have two raised garden beds that we build for square foot gardening. Having thought we’d be moved to Texas by now, I have ignored gardening up until now. I have the itch. Even if it’s just a few plants. When we moved to Nebraska from Utah, we had planted a beautiful garden full of tomatoes and zucchini and other wonders and the people who moved into our home there didn’t even like tomatoes. C’est la vie! Since we’re not so sure we won’t be here sans husband (he might have to travel back and forth), I might as well get my garden on!
It’s finally time for an online giveaway! Your comment could win you Rachael Ray’s 2007 cookbook called “Just In Time” and she includes recipes that cook in 15, 30 or 60 minutes. Looks like a great collection. It doesn’t appear to have ever been used – just stored on a shelf. Some of the 15 minute recipes that I saw as I was leafing through the book looked so yummy and easy to make that I was tempted to keep it! Enter by leaving a comment on this post. The winner will be chosen from all comments (one per person please) by random.org. Comments accepted until April 30, 2009. Good luck!
Getpalmd from Helsinki, Finland who wrote, “Cool, I’m in here.” Very succinct, I might add. If she doesn’t claim her prize within 7 days (email me back with your snail mail), it will go to the second place winner who was Rachel. We’ll wait to see if Sara from Getpalmd really wants her sunglasses. I’ve already emailed her with the news and hope she loves ‘em!
If you are not familiar with Boden merchandise for your family, be sure to check it out here. I am in love with their design and fabrics. Their children’s clothing is fun – the boys stuff is full of spiders, monsters and soft fabrics – and the adult stuff has such flair. I love their marketing techniques. The catalogs include a running interview of the models with intriguing questions. I hadn’t shopped there for almost a year and they sent me a very funny, personalized letter that had Don and I laughing so hard we vowed to spend the $20 voucher they gave us immediately. Which we did. To pay for a portion of these sunglasses. That make even me look like a movie star so I wanted to keep them. But here you go. My biggest online giveaway yet. Just comment on this post — one comment per person, please — and you will be entered to win. Drawing will be held on December 10th at midnight, CST using random.org. Retail value $60 and they come in the cutest case – perfect for Christmas giving.
There’s a couple of giveaway links to share this morning (besides my own giveaway listed below, of course):
1. www.makemorescents.com – gives away a large scented candle every Monday (you have to click on the free drawing icon in the upper RH corner of the website). Watch this one – you will receive ads from their site to whatever email you put in (be careful if you don’t like to use your delete key!), and
2. The Inspired Room, which, I’ve posted about before — lovely site — is giving away an Urban Botanic fragrance thingy that is sure to make your home smell lovely for the holidays. Click here to enter that contest. Pic above is from The Inspired Room.
All rules and regulations per the hosting site. I just wanted to share the love links.
I was waxing a bit philosophical late yesterday so, let’s have a little fun! After all, Thanksgiving is just around the corner and you might need a good cookbook. What is it about cookbooks? I love them all. I have an entire chicken-coop-turned-cabinet in my kitchen full of ‘em. That is why I’m parting with this one as an online giveaway; it’s a great cookbook, I just have not had a chance to try any of the recipes and I thought someone else might really enjoy this just in time for Turkey Day (aka Thanksgiving)! This is Mary’s “Queen of the Kitchen” Cookbook and it includes biscuits, wafers, chowder, ribs, lamb, turkey, shrimp, waffles, pineapple cake. The pies alone include: Brown Sugar Pumpkin Pie, Farmhouse Walnut Pie, Apple Cinnamon Crumb Pie, Strawberry & Lemon Tart, Deep Dish Apple Cranberry Pie, Nectarine & Blueberry Cobbler, Caramel Baked Pears and Double Pear Crisp. Ooooh, there’s Peanut Brittle Fudge Sundae…oh, crud, did I really want to part with this one??? It’s up for grabs! Rules: One entry per email/person, just make a comment on THIS post. Winner will be chosen by random.org in two weeks. Last day to enter will be midnight on Wednesday, November 19th. Value of this giveaway is approximately $19.95.
…and the winner is KAREN who said, “Love the shirt! So cute! Count me in.” and then upon hearing she won, said, “Wow, I never win anything!” Can’t really say that anymore, Karen! You chances were good – we had ONLY 5 comments but there were a ton of lurkers (over 150) who didn’t comment. I must have all size Small lurkers. Anyway, congrats to Karen and watch for a new item soon!
